Privacy Policy

Watchlist is an independent, non-commercial personal project (the "Service"). This page explains what personal data the Service processes and your rights over it. By using the Service you accept this policy.

1. Data we process

When you sign in with Google, we receive and store: your email address, your display name, your profile picture URL, and your Google account identifier (sub). We also store the content you create in the Service: your chosen username, watched films, ratings, comments, and your wishlist.

2. Why we process it

To authenticate you, to maintain your film catalogue, and to render your public profile page. We request only the minimal Google account data necessary for authentication. We do not use your personal data for advertising or AI/ML model training, and we do not sell, rent, or transfer it to anyone.

3. Legal basis (GDPR)

Processing is based on your consent (given at sign-in) and on the performance of the service you request.

4. Storage and retention

Data is stored on the Service's server and retained until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile and all related records.

5. Third parties

Authentication is handled by Google. Film metadata and poster images are sourced from third-party providers (KinoPoisk and IMDb data). Your personal data is not shared with these providers.

6. Public visibility

Your username and film list are public by default and may be indexed by search engines. You can switch your profile to private at any time from the account menu; your email address is never shown publicly.

7. Your rights

You may access and edit your data within the Service, withdraw consent by signing out, and exercise the right to erasure using the "Delete account" button in the account menu, which permanently removes your profile and all related data.

8. Cookies

We use a strictly necessary session cookie for login and small preference cookies for language and theme. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
